LOEWS CINEPLEX HELPS PROTECT KIDS ON THE INTERNET BY DISTRIBUTING FREE GIFT CARDS
February 16, 2005, Escondido, CA – Under a promotional agreement between Children’s Educational Network (CEN) and Loews Cineplex Entertainment, gift cards featuring the SON OF THE MASK Browser for Kids™ will be distributed to movie-goers for free. Valued at $14.95, this Kid Safe Browser™ was developed under a newly-announced licensing agreement with New Line Cinema and utilizes CEN’s proprietary technology to ensure that kids have a safe, educational and entertaining surfing environment protected from the perils of the Internet.
“We’re pleased to announce this promotion that will help protect children online and that Loews Cineplex has agreed to join us in our efforts. With this offer, consumers can go to Loews and watch a movie as usual and receive a gift card for a product that kids love and parents need. Our goal is to create the world’s largest community for children on the Internet designed to keep them safe from pornography, violence and hate and we know that this will put us one step closer to our goal,” said Greg Writer, CEO of Children’s Educational Network and one of the nation’s foremost authorities on Internet safety.
Gift card recipients will be able to get their free SON OF THE MASK Browser for Kids at www.SonOfTheMaskBrowser.com and will only be required to pay the nominal shipping and handling or download fee ($6.95 or $3.95 accordingly) whereas consumers who don’t have the card will pay $14.95 for the themed browser upon release of SON OF THE MASK in theatres, February 18th.
