San Diego, CA-February 7, 2008 - Children’s Educational Network is proud to announce the addition of our newest team member, Clifford J. Smith. Mr. Smith comes to CEN with over 20 years’ experience in management and business governance and policy. Mr. Smith has successfully planned and set into operation three start-ups companies; developed and implemented corporate management structures; implemented policies and procedures; and developed operational systems and controls. He is an experienced senior-level planner and administrator and accomplished program and product management.
Mr. Smith is best known for his work in obtaining special authorization from each branch of the US Military to utilize the emblems of the Army / Navy / Air Force / Marines / Coast Guard / Army and Air National Guard on products distributed throughout all 50 states, US territories, Possessions and Military Bases worldwide in an effort to help military families and thank them for their brave efforts, while protecting our freedoms.
Mr. Smith handled operational budget creation and capital raising activities and secured strategic partnerships with the US Postal Service, Infinity Broadcastings KYXY 96.5 FM, the Walt Disney Company, and EarthLink, Inc. Mr. Smith took part in taking a former technology company public in 1998. Mr. Smith is also a member of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and a registered speaker talking with consumer groups about fraud through the BBB Speakers Bureau.
His vision now has shifted to taking Children’s Educational Network to the forefront of the Internet safety issue and providing unmatched solutions for families. “I am very excited about the opportunity to work on such a meaningful project that combines technology, public awareness and safety while teaching kids to be safe in a fun educational online environment.” Mr. Smith explains. “I am very excited to have witnessed firsthand the enormous evolutionary progress in this field over the past few years. I look forward to advancing and introducing the newest technology to consumers and helping to secure CEN’s bright future.”
His experience in the hotel and Food and Beverage Management field spanned nearly a decade working for Marriott, Hilton Hotels and world renowned Hotel Del Coronado, among others. One Highlight includes the 1996 Republican National Convention in San Diego. Mr. Smith was heavily involved in the opening of multiple food and beverage outlets for Marriott Hotels in Boston Copley, Long Island NY, Westchester NY, Newark Airport Marriott, LaGuardia Airport Marriott, and the New York City Marriott Marquis.
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelors of Science Degree (BS) with a double major in Food Service Management and Business Administration, from Montclair State College in New Jersey.
